Territory

Our winery is located in the heart of the Itria Valley, in Locorotondo, one of the most charming villages in central Puglia.

Locorotondo is famous for its trulli, dry-stone walls, and an ancient winemaking tradition. Here, the rural landscape is unique: red earth, centuries-old olive groves, and vineyards create an authentic and timeless setting.

Trulli are historic dwellings typical and exclusive to the Itria Valley, characterized by conical roofs and built from dry limestone, without the use of mortar or cement. Their highest concentration is found in Alberobello, a UNESCO World Heritage site.

The winemaking tradition and native vines

The Itria Valley's wine culture has its roots in the era of Magna Graecia. Thanks to its calcareous soil and breezy climate, this area is particularly suited to the production of fresh, elegant, and fragrant wines.

Among the most representative native grape varieties are:

  • Verdeca – a white grape variety that produces wines with citrus aromas and pleasant mineral notes.
  • Susumaniello – a historic red grape variety of the area, named for its abundant yield.

Those visiting our region cannot miss some of the most fascinating places in the Itria Valley:

  • Alberobello, the capital of the trulli
  • Martina Franca, an elegant baroque town just a few kilometers from Locorotondo
  • Cisternino, famous for its whitewashed alleys and gastronomic traditions
  • Ceglie Messapica, renowned for its cuisine
